The Freshly Plucked Festival recently received a strong show of support from the Lyndon Community, which has sponsored the festival for the third year in a row.
This year the Lyndon Community has donated $2500 to the Youth All Ages Drug and Alcohol Free Festival.
Orange City Council Services Policy Committee Chair, Cr Fiona Rossiter said the Lyndon Community and Freshly Plucked were a great fit.
The Lyndon Community is a non-government organisation that has been providing drug and alcohol treatment programs for over 25 years. They provide accessible, high quality drug and alcohol services to reduce the harm and improve health and well being of individuals, families and the community. More information is available at www.lyndoncommunity.org.au or call (02) 6361 2300 for more information.
“Freshly Plucked is an all-ages, drug and alcohol free festival presented by Rock Up and Black Dog and supported by Orange City Council. The festival aims at providing a great day of entertainment for the youth of the Central West as well as raising awareness of mental health issues amongst young people in regional areas,” Cr Rossiter said.
This year’s festival is on Saturday 7 November at the Orange Function Centre and will be headlined by Magic Dirt with The Fumes, Regular John, The Jezabels, Claude Hay and Dreadnaught. There will also be great musical entertainment on the day from local supports.
Tickets go on sale on Monday 28 September through Ticketek and selected outlets.
Freshly Plucked is currently seeking more sponsors to help make this years event the biggest yet. Without the support of community businesses we would not be able to run the festival, so if you are interested in supporting an ever-growing festival please call Tara Selwood on 0407 208 467.
