An honest, positive, communication point between the residents of Orange and the councillors/candidates. If we speak up in a positive way – we can be heard and make a difference.
GUIDELINES:
This is a two way street -
Here is an arena where you can let the councillors know what ‘you’ – the people of Orange would like.
Put your positive ideas to the Councillors in general. Submit a comment to individual councillors – you may wish to pat them on the back for an issue achieved or make a positive, helpful comment to give a different slant on one of their policies, or provide a totally new idea.
Our hope is that the Councillors will listen to your comments – take them on board, act on them when feasible and give reasons for their actions in a reply.
This way the Councillors who are elected to represent us can hear what we the people are saying AND they can respond to our input.
What this site is not about – is becoming a place to criticize, winge, complain, slander or make personal attacks – words are powerful and they hurt (remember your childhood) – we are about helping, not about hurting people – no matter which side they are on. It is also not about blantant self promotion with inconsequential comments or about planted comments aimed at promoting a councillors policy.
If you are vigilant you can help counteract any such comments by placing valid positive comments in reply.
If you have a complaint about something or someone – ask yourself what you would do in the same situation – what is an alternative, a new idea or possible solution.
Posting a positive alternative, new idea or suggestion will be more helpful than an attack – and it will get a better response.
The above are the guidelines that we will be using in moderating comments on the site so you will understand why your comment isn’t posted if it does criticize, winge, complain, slander or make a personal attack.
As moderators our personal thoughts have no place – we try very hard to be totally un-biased and judge the comments only on the above criteria. Sometimes assessing comments and responses can be a fine line – in lieu of this our decision is to lean in the favour of conservative.
We give this site freely and want it to be beneficial to everyone but we cannot afford to be threatened by any legal issues – whether they be just noise or action.
Let’s make this a first – a positive, beneficial, community interaction – that moves Orange forward into the future.
